break time

We’re taking a break from this blog because we no longer have the time to devote to it. We’re also getting a bit tired of the subject so we *may* be getting sloppy. :)

We’re still following a developing situation regarding Tracy Coenen CPA, MBA, CFE so we’ll post on it when the time comes. (It could be months, we have no idea.)

In the meantime we’ll post some of our greatest hits here, for any newcomers who may be interested in a quick sampling of Tracy Coenen’s professional behavior.

Tracy’s Previous Employers (Part 2)

Tracy’s Poor Boss

We got sidetracked with all of the fun tidbits from Savant recently, and I wanted to continue blabbing about Tracy’s previous boss, the one she claims taught her everything about forensic accounting….and of course, she says she just couldn’t “mesh” with him.

We bet.

We can’t help but speculate on how she got her new business off the ground. She says that she left John’s employment and set up her own operation – and in the past when asked about this process, Tracy says that she “got contacts”. She didn’t say how she found her potential new clients, but it’s safe to say that she probably tried to steal John’s clients.

Can you imagine being John Peters? We could almost shed a tear for the poor guy, knowing Tracy as well as we do.

The Scene of the Incident

Here’s the location where Tracy knocked over her neighbor’s garbage cans and (apparently) threw the trash all over the ground.  Which was an accident, you losers.

wait….what is that? Is that Tracy about to beat down her latin neighbor? (click to enlarge, chicas)

More on Pink Truth and Password Changes

After our post about Ex-Pink Truth members having privacy questions, there was discussion about emails that some people thought were sent automatically when Tracy changed the passwords of members there.

To clear up the disagreements and confusion, we did our own little experiment with the help of LJ over at pinklighthouse.com. They use the same software that the Pink Truth board uses.

We had LJ change our passwords and then sat back and waited to see if we would receive any notification in our email.

We waited. And waited.

But we never received a thing telling us our password had changed.

Why? Because nothing ever gets sent to the member when the Administrator of the board changes their password.

Nothing.

The only time you receive an email about your password, kicked out by the board software, is when you try to log in and can’t and then click on the “forgot password” link.

Given that, here is how Tracy was and probably still is messing with passwords on the Pink Truth board:

  • Tracy was/is changing the passwords of various members on the board without their request or knowledge so that she can then go into their accounts and read the personal messages. (Be aware…this also means that she could send personal messages as if she were that person.)

As for the emails that people received telling them that their password had been reset. This could happen one of two ways:

  1. When she was finished, Tracy logged out, then tried to log into that person’s account with a password she knew was wrong. That way, the “forgot password?” link would appear under the login, like in this photo:

logingif

Then all Tracy would have to do is click on that link and she’d see this screen:

passwordreminder

All she has to do now is type in the member’s username, and click “Send” and and email is sent to the email address that the member has in their account, telling them that their password has been reset.

However, it seems that by the time people received these emails they had already been banned so the new login information didn’t work anyway.

2. After Tracy changed the member’s password, she may not have bothered with the rest of it. She may have just let the member try to log in again and when they couldn’t, the member themselves would have to click on the “forgot password” link to retrieve their log in information.

All of this nonsense is the type of games that children play. Why anyone would want to be part of a board where all this crap is happening , I don’t know.

You also have to wonder if all this snooping into member accounts and their communications violates some privacy rules.

In any event, people who are or were on Pink Truth should know this kind of behavior was going on and no doubt is still going on today.

And it was perpetrated by a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Fraud. Indeed!

Special Agent PTLies is a bad bad grrrl…..

So there I was, poolside with Paolo and Benito, drinking my apple ‘tini, when I realized that I needed a new pedi. Stretched out on the chaise, I happened to catch sight of my peeling toenail polish (when I took a break from staring at Paolo of course).

So I decided to take the afternoon off, lock up the office, and go for a pedicure. I figured Tracy’s latest antics could wait – besides, how many more crimes could she commit in one afternoon? I needed a little vacation anyway….

I hopped in my Spyder and took off, hoping to get to the spa before my favorite nail tech got booked up. I may have been speeding just a teensy bit; I’m not certain, but I’m sure that my martini had nothing to do with it.

Halfway to the spa, I heard the sirens. I’m not sure how long the cop was following me, since I was blasting my new favorite song so loud, I could barely hear myself singing along. I pulled over, and when the officer came up to my window, I was hit with this:

sven31.jpg

“Ma’am, do you know how fast you were going?” he said, pausing as I turned down the music.

“Excuse me? Where on earth did you get that shirt?” I stared at him with my mouth open, and he just smiled.

“You’ve been a naughty girl. It’s a good thing I’m one of your biggest fans, otherwise I might have to write you a ticket…”

His shades were so dark I couldn’t see his eyes, but there was no mistaking that tone. He knew I was a lightweight; one apple ‘tini was enough to make me forget I wasn’t wearing any shoes. His gaze trailed down my legs and he stared at my bare feet pointedly.

I tried to wink at him, hoping that only one of my eyes fluttered. “Eh….I’m not as bad as Tracy, am I?”

He shrugged, and placed both hands on my car door, leaning in tight until I could smell the Curve. I was starting to feel just a little dizzy…

“Depends on what you want your punishment to be. You want a fine? Or something…rougher? I’ve got some handcuffs with PTLies engraved on them, if you want to check them out later. Had ‘em made specially for you.”

“Yeah sure,” I squeaked. “You got a name?”

“Sven. Call me after the other guys go home. I’m on duty late tonight.”

And with that he left, sidling back toward his cruiser without a backward glance. I felt flush, and wished that I’d brought Paolo and his banana leaf along for the ride. In heat like this, what’s a girl to do?

I decided to add a wax while I was at the spa.

Ex-Pink Truth Members Have Privacy Questions

I received some questions from a former Pink Truth discussion board member the other day. This person sent me an email they received when they were still on the board.

What happened is that their password had been reset. The discussion board kicked out a message to this person’s email informing them of this. Here it is:

From: “Pink Truth Discussion Board” <pinktruth@gmail.com>
To: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXx
Subject: New Password Details
Date: Fri, 10 Aug 2007 02:31:34 +0000

Hey, User!

Your login details at Pink Truth Discussion Board have been changed and your password reset. Below are your new login details.

Your username is: XXXXXXX, and your password is XXXXXXXXXXXXXx

You may change it after you login by going to the profile page, or by visiting this page after you login:
http://www.pinktruth.com/board/index.php?action=profile

Regards,
The Pink Truth Discussion Board Team.

Only problem is, this person didn’t reset their password. Tracy did.

Why, you ask? So she could read this person’s private messages.

You see, all Tracy has to do, as the discussion board Administrator, is pull up someone’s profile and then change their password. Then Tracy can log in as this person using that new password and she has access to all their personal messages.

When someone gets the email that their password has been reset, who knows what they think. Maybe they think it’s a security thing. Maybe Tracy tells them it was necessary for whatever reason.

But the reason is so Tracy can access their account.

We did a post explaining some things about the particular discussion board software used on Pink Truth HERE.

In a conversation with LJ, the Admin/Owner of the pinklighthouse forum, I learned that the discussion board is stored using a database. The passwords for each user’s account are stored in the database, but they are scrambled. (Probably because Admins aren’t supposed to be getting into people’s accounts in the first place. Something about privacy issues.) As LJ told us before, the private messages are part of the database too, but if you don’t know much about databases, accessing them and reading them would be tricky.

It’s much easier to just change someone’s password.

Apparently this happened to several members of the Pink Truth discussion board. Tracy has since banned the person that emailed me. Still, this person wanted some answers to questions that they and other members have had.

I hope this helps.

One More Rhetorical Question from Tracy

From: Pink Truth [mailto:pinktruth@gmail.com ]
Sent: Thursday, May 31, 2007 8:51 AM
Subject: Question

Let’s suppose I did lie to everyone and about PT and myself.

Does that mean that I deserve to have my career ruined?

It’s not that anyone is trying to ruin her career per se; it’s more that people are tired of her lying and don’t mind putting the truth out there. And this constant bellowing about her business is getting comical. If she was truly concerned about her business reputation, she would have quit Pink Truth long ago, or at least altered her behavior.

The fact that she continues to ride this dragging pony like hell’s handmaiden means that either #1.) Her business wasn’t much to begin with, or #2.) She’s getting enough of a psychological high (or $$$) from PT that she doesn’t care if her credibility is mud.

And this incessant mantra of “they’re trying to ruin my business! they’re trying to ruin my business! they’re trying to ruin my business!” would make more sense if Tracy herself wasn’t destroying her OWN reputation.

Cadillacs, Continued

People. Please.

I see my succinct and somewhat cryptic writing had some of you confused. However, I didn’t get hired for this gig to spoon feed you. I’m here to give you information. You have to put the pieces together.

Me is right on the money.

If you see Tracy Coenen driving down the road, it will be in a 2006 Cadillac CTS 3.5L V6.

As she passes you, (because she will pass you, and quickly at that) make sure to notice the license plate:

This 2006 Cadillac CTS, especially this 3.5L V6 model, is a beautiful car, don’t you think?

Tracy does too.

We Interrupt this Program to Bring You Breaking News

Ok, it’s not all that new since these emails are old, but we want to respond to them. This is Tracy Coenen’s response to our discussion about her background checking activities, and her cyber-harrassment of Melissa.

First of all, Tracy, you are not an “investigator”. You are not law enforcement. You are a public accountant. Your clients do not hire you to do background checks on their employees – forensic accounting is just following receipts and accounts, looking for discrepencies. Calling yourself an investigator is not going to cover up the fact that you did some pretty unethical things here.

Do these people not understand public records? Do they have no capacity to understand the following:

1. Someone puts up a defamatory website in Oct
2. I am a fraud investigator, therefore I investigate and find out it’s Melissa
3. I do a public records search on Melissa as part of my investigation
4. I later share some of that information with someone else, because it’s public.

I guess I have no barometer for this because what I did is exactly what I do everyday. There’s absolutely nothing underhanded to it. Do other people understand it, or should I be concerned about what they might thinK?

I guess I’m thinking that they just don’t understand what’s out there as legitimately public. And if they don’t understand, then I’ll assume that our members don’t understand either. Do “they” really think I’d be so stupid as to do something illegal and then give the results to Julz? Come on. So I guess if you hear any rumblings or questions, can you make sure peope understand it’s no big deal to you, and then also have them ask me. And make sure to say… she investigates fraud for a living… hello…

Oh well… okay… well if you hear any chatterings about it, just make sure they know they can ask etc and that lots of stuff is totally public and people dont’ realize it. I don’t want to bring attention to this issue if I don’t have to, but I want to make sure that everyone has the chance to know it’s on the up-and-up. I am so sick of self-scrutinizing my every move.
